Our History

Goshen Parish was dedicated on 25th January 1998 as an offshoot of Beautiful Gate Parish. Our mother in the lord, Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye did the dedication. The parish started at Swet Sensation confectionary at No. 26 Ademola Adetokunbo Street, Victoria Island, Lagos in 1999. A new parish, Hepzibah Assembly was birthed to start its service in the location, thus making it the first parish to be birthed by Goshen. The Church planting efforts of Goshen continued with the birth of Isreal Assembly which was later adopted by the then Headquarters State 2A.

In the year 2000, the Almighty God used Goshen Parish to establish another Parish in Maiduguri, Borno State. The Almighty used the Hephzibah Assembly and the Goshen Parish in the year 2001 to establish two more parishes namely; Jedidah Court at Sweet Sensation Confectionary, Opebi and Shiloh Assembly at Sweet Sensation, Ilupeju. By the mercies of the Lord, in August 2001, Goshen was made an Area Headquarters with four Parishes, Hephzibah, Shiloh, Upper Room, and the Chapel of Grace.

After April 2003 Let’s Go A Fishing programme, the Lord added Peniel Court unto us and by August of the same year, the God of multiplication visited us again, this time we birthed an Area, Peniel Court Area 39. After the creation of the Peniel Area, Goshen Area was left with only two parishes. However, by the grace of God in November 2003, God added to us Berechah Assembly at Sweet Sensation Confectionary, Herbert Macaulay Road, Alogomeji Bus Stop, Yaba. Also in May 2004, we planted Chapel of Greatness at Sweet Sensation Confectionary, Olowo Ira, Ojodu Berger, Lagos.

In 2005, we birthed another Parish, Chapel of Restoration at Osapa London, Lekki, Lagos. The Glorious Church and Hope Centre were respectfully established in November 27, 2005 and February 26, 2006. Late in 2006, to the glory of God, more areas were created namely; Hephzibah Assembly, Chapel of Greatness and Liberty Chapel out of Goshen, and to the glory of God Almighty, Goshen became a Zonal Headquarters with seven (7) Area headquarters under her. With the above progress, Goshen as an Area was again left with only tw Parishes. However, in October 2006, another parish: Beulah Assembly was birthed at Victoria Island, Lagos. In April 2007, another Parish, Prince of Peace was birthed by Goshen at Badore Ajah, Lagos after the Let’s Go a Fishing programme. The church planting efforts continued. RCCG Victory Court was established in April 2008 at Plot 285 Akin Olugbade Street, Victoria Island, Lagos.

In 2009 RCCG The Place of Enlargement was established at Protea Hotel, Lekki Lagos. RCCG Eagles Nest (Youth Mega Church) was established in December 2011. In January 2012, Hilltop Assembly was planted at Badore Ajah, Lagos. In December 2013, Goshen planted RCCG Living Brooks Parish at Ado Ajah, Lagos and in January 2014, RCCG Covenant of Life was planted. By the grace of God in April 2015, Goshen again planted a new parish, RCCG The Amen Church at Amen Estate, Eleko Ibeju Lekki, Lagos and in the year 2016, Jubilee Church Sekugba was birthed. We are involved in foreign missions. We partnered in establishing Jesus Embassy, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA, Guadaloupe, Macau, Nice in France and many others.

Our story cannot be complete without brief note of how we got to Lekki. We desired to build a habitation for our God, a place of rest, where we could freely and truly express ourselves in worship and enjoy His presence. By His mercies, He provided a parcel of land for us in February 2000 and on 29th December 2001, the foundation stone of this auditorium was laid by the RCCG National Elders from the headquarters. By the special grace of God, the sanctuary was completed and dedicated on Sunday 29th December 2003 by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor E.A. Adeboye. As the Lord enables us, we have resolved to remain a haven of distinction, a centre of excellence, where there is abundance for all and to be unique worshippers of God, bearing fruit and replenishing the whole earth. This we will pursue until we see Him in glory. Hallelujah! Goshen is led by an Assistant Provincial church and with the APICP (CSR), Pastor Ade Omokorede in charge.
